**The Company**
Our client, EGS Survey Australia (EGS) is a multi-national organization operating in Europe, Americas, Asia and Australia. EGS provide a wide range of Marine Surveying services to the telecommunications, Renewables, Oil & Gas, Charting and Marine Infrastructure sectors.
Due to an increase in demand in EGS services based out of Australia, they are seeking an experienced Nautical Cartographer to work out of their Western Australian branch for Onshore and Offshore responsibilities.
**The Role**
EGS are recruiting degree qualified **Nautical Cartographers with **5+ years experience to work in the EGS regional head office is based in Fremantle, Western Australia which is part of the city of Perth.
The office environment is relaxed, with flexible start and end times and partial working from home possible. The working week is 38 hours with. Our newly refurbished office is based in central Fremantle, walking distance to train station and the Fremantle CBD/ Café Strip and beach.
**Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
The Nautical Cartographer is primarily responsible for creating and QA of ENCs and Paper charts created at EGS Survey Pty. The main responsibilities of the role include;
- **A commitment to safe work practices and is willingness to embrace the EGS QHSE Management System and policies.**:
- **Charting, GIS and Reporting activities for hydrographic and cartographic projects.**:
- **Production and Quality Assurance of all ENCs ensuring all required data has been included and they adhere to the IHO/AHO ENC specification.**:
- **Production and Quality Assurance of Paper Charts ensuring all the required data has been included and they adhere to the Aus HO paper chart specification.**:
- **Training Junior Cartographers in compilation methods and the Caris software used to create ENCs and Paper Charts.**:
- **Project coordination to assist management.**
We are seeking a degree qualified Nautical Cartographer with at least 5 years experience. Essential Criteria include;
- **University degree in Hydrography/Cartography/GIS or a closely related discipline**:
- **Experience within a senior role at a government or commercial GIS/Charting department.**:
- **Detailed knowledge of nautical charts.**:
- **Detailed understanding of ENC and paper Chart specifications (S57/S100 etc).**:
- **Competent with Caris S57 Composer and Caris Paper Chart Composer**:
- **Experience in hydrographic surveying/bathymetric data processing.**:
- **Experience with other CAD and GIS software i.e. AutoCad, ESRI, Globalmapper etc.**:
- **Excellent oral and written communication skills**:
- **Willing to work from the EGS office in Fremantle**:
- **Self-motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment**

The is a Full-Time / Permanent role and Depending on your experience the salary range will be;
- **Base Salary**: 80K to 110K
