Assistant Brewer

**Detailed Job Description**

**Job title**: Assistant Brewer

**Reporting to**:Brewery Operations Manager

**Hours**: variable part-time, 2 days per week

**Location**: Keg King, 48 smith road & 33-35, Springvale VIC 3171

**Purpose of the position**

As an Assistant Brewer at Keg King Brewing Co., you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the brewing and filling of wort for fresh wort kits production. You will work closely with the Brewery Operations Manager and other team members to ensure the production of high-quality beers that meet our standards of excellence. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, a passion for brewing, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

**Responsibilities and duties**

Wort production on a 1hl Braumeister single vessel system

Milling of malt and specialty malt

Run CIP on different brewery equipment including but not limited to the brew house

Conduct quality control testing in all areas of brewing

Keep accurate records of brewing processes, ingredients, and inventory.

Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or operational issues that arise during the brewing process.

Maintain stock levels of raw materials and assist with ordering supplies as necessary.

Participate in brewery events, promotions, and tastings to represent the brand and engage with the local beer community.

**Qualifications**

Professional brewing experience.

Strong understanding of brewing science, processes, and equipment.

Ability to work independently.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Physically fit to work in all areas of a brewing facility.

Preferred qualifications

Formal brewing education or certification is a plus.

Knowledge of safety protocols including safe chemical handling

Pay: $50,535.82 - $64,394.09 per year

Expected hours: 16 per week
