About the Role

**As the Guidance Officer - Student Wellbeing, you will**:

- Advocate for and provide counselling and therapeutic intervention to individuals and/or groups, addressing mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing concerns.
- Support teachers, school staff, and parents by offering student support, recommendations, and advice regarding mental health and wellbeing concerns.
- Drive across a cluster of schools to support staff in building their capability to address students' mental health and wellbeing needs.
- Identify and refer children, parents, and families to community agencies in cases of severe or critical mental health concerns.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, fostering effective relationships and partnerships with parents, school personnel, and external support agencies.
- Conduct student observations and psychoeducational assessments to assess wellbeing concerns and provide recommendations for educational adjustments and interventions.
- Maintain ethical considerations of privacy and confidentiality while ensuring appropriate sharing of information with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage comprehensive and professional record-keeping systems in compliance with policy and legal requirements.
- Engage in relevant professional development, prepare, and implement skill development programs and in-service activities for administrators, teachers, and parents to enhance their understanding and support of student wellbeing.
