**THE OPPORTUNITY**

This role will be responsible for creating and disseminating thematic maps, and translating unstructured data to structured formats, managing geodatabases, creation of data dictionaries and curation of web-related content within online GIS platforms. As a member of our Sydney based GIS team within the Biourbanism Lab, you will support project development on Australian and international projects.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Creating and working with spatial data, engineering datasets, and producing both printed and digital maps.
- Managing and maintaining spatial data by collecting, organizing, and verifying data from various sources.
- Creating visually appealing digital maps for internal and external stakeholders.
- Producing professional reports and presentations using InDesign, PowerPoint, and other documentation tools.
- Conducting spatial analysis, 3D analysis and generating valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborating with team members to support GIS projects and deliver high-quality results.
- Documenting Data dictionary, GIS processes, workflows, and methodologies for knowledge sharing within the team. Providing support and facilitation for the development of relevant spatial products and services when necessary.

**ABOUT YOU
- A qualification Bachelors or Master’s degree in geography, earth science, urban planning, public policy or computer sciences is essential;
- An understanding of GIS and spatial data fundamentals;Working knowledge of GIS and digital mapping;
- Proficient in creating and working with spatial data, engineering datasets, and producing both printed and digital maps;
- Familiarity with the Esri suite of products, including Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online would be highly beneficial;
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and present geospatial information for reports or presentations;
- R eport production capability using tools like InDesign, Photoshop, and strong documentation skills are desired;
- Participation in stakeholder engagement to identify geospatial opportunities to support business needs;
- Sound communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment;
- A detailed oriented individual with strong data organisation and analytical skills is required;
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, while adhering to the deadlines of each project;
- An ability to improve data insights, automate and simplify processes and workflows is needed; Dedicated to sharing the latest trends and best practices in GIS.
