**Opportunity to join our team**
We are seeking an experienced co-educator to support our kindergarten program, commencing from Term 1, 2025. This is a part-time (16.5 hours) fixed term position suitable for a diploma qualified educator, to support the leave arrangements of a long-term staff member.
This position would appeal to an educator who has a keen interest and experience in providing opportunities for children to connect with the natural environment through outdoor play and beach kindergarten sessions.
At our kindergarten, we provide play-based learning for our children, with a good balance between intentional teaching and child-led learning. We are seeking an educator who is experienced in documenting observations of children, and supporting goal setting for individual children to enable effective scaffolding of learning.
**Responsibilities**
The Early Childhood Co-Educator shall undertake duties commensurable to their experience and as outlined in the VECTEA 2020 Roles & Responsibilities Schedule 4.
**Selection Criteria**
A minimum of 2 years working experience in working in the Early Childhood Education & Care sector; with previous experience working in a sessional kindergarten considered favourably.
- Minimum requirement of working towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care or an equivalent qualification approved by ACECQA
- Current First Aid certification (HLTAID004 - Provide Emergency First Aid in an Education & Care Setting) Training) (includes CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certification)
- Satisfactory National Police History Check dated in the past 6 months
- Satisfactory Working with Children Check
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
1. A sound knowledge of child development theory and research, and curriculum approaches including how children learn and how to teach them effectively.
2. Proven ability to establish relationships, built on respect and trust, with the children they teach; to enable effective learning to occur based on the children’s strengths and interests.
3. Proven ability to use a range of teaching practices and resources to engage children in effective learning.
4. The ability to establish positive relationships with parents, colleagues and members of the community and respect their individuality.
5. Demonstrate skills for effective communication and team-work.
6. Proven ability to reflect on, evaluate and improve their professional knowledge and practice through engagement as an ongoing learner.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term
Pay: $27.14 - $41.31 per hour
