**The Position**

**St John of God Berwick Hospital, **has a total of 202 beds, eight operating theatres, a cardiac/vacsular laboratory and six birthing suites. provides a wide range of services caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including maternity, medical and surgical; offering state of the art equipment and facilities to our rapidly growing community. Hospital has a 16 bed Critical Care Unit with 6 dedicated Intensive Care beds and 10 Cardiac/HDU beds. Our aim is to deliver the very best in health care at our Kangan Drive Campus.

- **Environmental Service Assistants** to join our team on a casual basis. You will ensure our hospital is cleaned and maintained to quality standards whilst maintaining a safe and private environment for patients and clients, contributing to their comfort needs.
- This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and efficient team who provide an excellent standard of customer and cleaning services throughout the hospital. If you are energetic and team orientated with previous experience in a hospital or health services environment and have flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends, we would love to hear from you

**Essential**:

- A willingness and capacity to embrace the mission and value of St John of God Health Care.
- Basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage, cleaning equipment and OH&S requirements.
- Well-presented and meets all hygiene requirements particularly with regards to Infection Control principles.
- Quiet and efficient manner.
- Demonstrates communication skills and relates well with other people.
- Demonstrates initiative, motivation & confidence.
- Understands needs for discretion and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate ability to work as team member.

**Desirable**:

- An understanding of and commitment to quality improvement.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting
