**About the role

To supervise and lead a team providing non-clinical home-based face to face assessments of clients referred via the My Aged Care Gateway using the Integrated Assessment Tool (IAT). Under the Single Aged Care Assessment System, Home Support Assessors will work with clients and their representative/s to establish goals specific to the client's needs and develops appropriate strategies and actions, including referrals to aged care and non-aged care services.

As a supervisor, the position will mentor new staff in their Home Support Assessment role, continue education and quality assurance for Home Support Assessors and undertake Delegate responsibilities as outlined within the New Aged Care Act.

About you

Achieve and maintain the required level of competency in Home Support assessment training provided by the Commonwealth, including the Gateway systems and the IAT and the wellness and reablement philosophy underpinning the assessment process.
Ability to work under broad supervision to manage and roster staff, undertake a diverse range of tasks and operate as an effective leader in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment.
Demonstrated liaison and communication skills, including good engagement, comprehension and verbal skills and the ability to deal courteously with people at all levels.
Demonstrated strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritise work tasks under limited direction and guidance and lead effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Mandatory Requirements:
Mandatory requirement of a Certificate III in Home Care or Aged Care or equivalent work experience
Highly desirable a Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance/Allied Health Assistance
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
