Exciting new opportunity for a Traffic Control Room Operator to join our M7 Westlink team in Sydney
About the Role

Service Stream’s are currently seeking a Traffic Control Room Operator to join the team delivering exciting projects within our Transportation department under the Westlink Services project.

Nature of position: Casual, Ongoing

Location: Eastern Creek, NSW

Reporting Line: Operations Manager

M7 is a 40km, dual carriage motorway and adjacent shared path.

The Traffic Control Room Operators will provide control room operations through 24 hour monitoring to ensure that the asset remains free of hazards and that the customer experience is maintained through the flow of traffic and minimisation of disruption. Operators also play a key role in the monitoring of M7and related works.
- Perform duties of the Traffic Control Room Operator in the 24-hour 7-day week operation of the control room
- Monitor the asset and identify any unplanned and planned incidents, including congestion and planned works
- Initiate incident and emergency response processes in accordance with policies, plans and procedures
- Report and log all incidents, events, and equipment failures
- Actively monitor and respond to alarms associated with ITS systems
- Proactively manage all relevant KPI’s for M7 Control Room
- Provide support on other activities where applicable

About You

To be successful in this role, you have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written; excellent documentation skills, and high-level problem-solving skill, including the ability to proactively develop innovative solutions to those problems.
- The ability to work on a 24/7 rotating shift basis
- Experience working in a Control Room environment
- The ability to work as an individual and in a team
- Good computer skills

Desirable but not essential:

- Certificate IV in Traffic Operations
- First Aid
- Traffic Management tickets
- Construction White Card
- Medium rigid drivers license
