Due to increasing demand for ORS’ support services, we have the opportunity to add a new member to our growing team at Gosford on the Central Coast. You will be joining a national team of 700+ employees across a range of allied health disciplines who will be there to support you and provide insight into their disciplines.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to utilise your existing expertise in early childhood and developmental education or allied health services to support young people and their families whilst learning new skills and supporting you to broaden your experience working across both ECS and PBS disciplines.

**As an Early Childhood Support Practitioner (Key Worker) your duties will include**:

- Working with families and children to develop and prioritise their goals using a routines-based approach
- Providing support to families that reflects a strengths-based and family-centred approach with a focus on improving the child and family quality of life
- Providing evidence-based support to address children’s goals across all areas of development e.g. communication, play, mobility, feeding, self-care activities, sensory processing, relationships with peers, feelings and behaviours, problem-solving and learning
- Working to develop the capacity of the adults supporting the child
- Coordinating support required from other disciplines. This could look like a quick question for another therapist, a joint visit with a consulting therapist, a therapy block with another therapist to address that specialist area or a referral to another division for ongoing support
- Supporting the inclusion and participation of children within their families and communities
- Providing consultative support to other key workers specific to your discipline/ background

This role also offers the opportunity to work in Positive Behaviour Support. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow with Australia's largest positive behaviour support team, working with your clients over a period of months, or even years, you will play an integral part in their personal growth and development, celebrating achievements with them every step of the way. The different ways you will be able to positively impact your clients as a positive behaviour support practitioner include;
- Completing behaviour assessments to understand the client's background and presenting concerns
- Collecting and analysing data to investigate the underlying function of a behaviour
- Writing behaviour support plans to support clients and stakeholders to understand the historic and current concerns such as risks of harm whilst recommending services and strategies to improve quality of life and daily functioning
- Working collaboratively with the client and various stakeholders such as family, carers, support workers, other allied health providers, medical providers and more to address client needs
- Providing resources, services and training to make positive change in a client's life and environment

**Role requirements**:

- Registration with a relevant human science, allied health or educational Australian professional board such as but not limited to;
- Developmental Educators Australia Inc
- Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Australian Association of Social Workers
- Speech Pathology Australia
- Australian Counselling Association or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia
- Exercise and Sports Science Australia
- Experience working with children and/or families
- Willingness to learn new skills and work across the age range with extensive support from a highly trained and experienced team

(Desirable)
- Registration as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with NDIS (ORS will support you to obtain this if you do not already hold registration)
- Experience working with clients across the age span who present with behaviours of concern or have diagnoses such as psychosocial or developmental conditions
