**Job description**

We are currently recruiting for multiple Disability Support Workers to provide support to NDIS participants across Melbourne.

You will work in the community providing a range of supports to participants to enable them to achieve their personal goals and build their independence.

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of Participants with different support needs including building improved daily living skills, social and community participation, personal care support and domestic support.

Opportunities exist for rapid growth into Lead Worker roles which provide on the ground team leadership and oversight of a programme that involves a team of support workers.

You will also have the opportunity to hone your skills and extend your training through our range of free education and training modules.

You will be supported by our experienced NDIS management team who oversee the set-up and development of the support programmes for the participants we work with. This team has over 20 years’ experience providing direct disability support, coordination of supports and NDIS planning as well as a Clinical Nurse Consultant.

**Mandatory**: You will need a NDIS Workers Screening Clearance Check and proof of 3 vaccination against Covid-19.

**Key duties**: Varied duties in line with providing support to help enable the participant to achieve their goals.
- Support participants with activities of daily living, promoting independence and capacity building appropriate to the participant.
- Support participants to access their community, build relationships, engage with activities of their choice, attend appointments, access amenities undertake shopping and other activities.

**Essential for the role**:

- Minimum of Certificate 4 in Disability
- Valid work rights in Australia
- Current and Clear National Police Check (within 12 months)
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Employee Working with Children Check
- A passion for client service and caring for people

**Highly Desirable**
- 1-2 years of support work or personal care experience
- Australian driver's license
- Insured car
- Hoisting experience
- Current manual handling certification
- Experience supporting people with autism
- Experience with non-verbal clients
- Experience with spinal cord injuries
