Permanent Part Time role (0.7FTE Fractional appointment)

About the role

Within the framework of the mission, vision, values, philosophy and policies of Calvary, the Staff Specialist will be responsible for the provision of high quality, safe and effective clinical management of patients. The Staff Specialist works within an inter-disciplinary team to ensure timely, appropriate care and effective discharge strategies. Duties will include patient care, supervision and teaching, continuing medical education, research and administration.

Key Responsibilities

To perform clinical services for Inpatients and Emergency presentations as required and to participate in the bed allocation process and management of transfer of care and patient flow according to patient need and the Hospital’s requirements.
Provide clinical leadership to junior colleagues by ensuring a high standard of patient care which conforms to best practice and is evidence based.
To develop, promote, encourage and participate in Staff Development Programs
To participate in the development and execution of innovative programs in both the delivery of care and clinical training.
