Mechanical Fitter

Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover South East Queensland across multiple locations.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to be based at the Capalaba Water Treatment Plant - Redlands Region to perform mechanical and maintenance duties in the region, on a casual basis.

**Responsibilities**
- Observe and comply with Seqwater work health and safety, quality and environmental management systems and procedures,
- Provide safe and efficient technical support in the team with planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of projects,
- Identify the resource requirements necessary to perform the assigned data gathering tasks - e.g., materials, equipment, subcontractors,
- Contribute to the ongoing efficiency and effectiveness of the Seqwater asset management system by developing and displaying a detailed understanding of the scope, function and nature of the mechanical assets used in water treatment, supply system and bulk water storage,

**Requirements**:

- Extensive experience in Mechanical Brownfield projects execution and/or maintenance of water assets will be considered an advantage,
- Understanding the scope of work, function and nature of mechanical and electrical assets
- Experience with WHS Risk Management Systems and Processes (Critical Controls, SWMS, JSAs) and the ability to read engineering drawings,
- Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team,
- Sound written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of people,

Skills / Qualifications:

- Trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter and Turner or equivalent trade
- Experience in planning, scheduling, engagement, and management of sub-contractors
- Experience in directing Trades Assistants
- Current “C” class Queensland Drivers’ Licence
- Current Confined Space Entry, BA and Gas ticket, Working at Heights, First Aid, LVR/CPR
