**About the opportunity**

The duties include but are not limited to:

- Collect residential garbage bins
- Collect unwanted residential and commercial waste using manual and mechanical aids
- Undertake bin maintenance
- Undertake clean-up crew activities as required
- Maintain daily checklists/run sheets, as required
- Report operational issues to the Waste Services leadership team
- Operate Council plant and/or vehicles with a Telematics system and GPS or similar device if applicable.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Customer service experience
- Well-developed communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and unsupervised
- Ability to locate properties using systems such as Google Maps, TechOne, Telematics, Global Positioning System (GPS), directions and signage
- Current class HR driver's licence.

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in waste management collection and/or removal or similar field
- Previous experience in using Telematics systems and Global Positioning systems (GPS).

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,222.32 per week
- 38-hour working week, plus an additional compulsory 1 hour overtime per day
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every month
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
