Educator - Outside School Hours Care (Oshc)

**We are currently seeking to employ casual Educators for our OSHC Corinda Service. **As an Educator your primary role will be to support the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinators in the planning and delivery of fun and active programs for primary aged children.

The successful applicants must be committed to creating a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for primary school aged children and have the following skills:

- You will have a true passion for working with children (4-12 years).
- Be able to build strong relationships with the children, parents, school and community.
- Work as part of a team and acting as a role model to staff and children.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- You will be an outgoing, reliable person who has lots of initiative.

**Requirements for the Educator role**:

- Hold or be actively studying a relevant childcare qualification such as a Diploma or Certificate III in Children’s Services or completing an Education, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Disability Services, or Social Work Degree and are looking for hands on experience in working with children, including some students with additional needs.
- The more availability the better, but we ask that you be available to work a minimum of 3 afternoon shifts a week.
- Well-developed emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to ensure you are building strong relationships with the children, parents and team members of the service.
- A current Queensland Blue Card (working with children check) or ability to obtain one is essential to start in the role.
- A current National Police Check
- All qualified educators must hold current Senior First Aid, CPR Emergency Management of Asthma and Anaphylaxis or alternatively a certificate for HLTAID012 - “Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting” as this covers all certificates.
- Previous experience working in the Childcare or OSHC industry with a good understanding of the National Quality Framework is preferred, but not essential.

**Hours of work are varied**:

- 6.30am - 9.00am Before School Care
- 2.00pm - 6.00pm - After School Care
- Various shifts during vacation care
