An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Project Director to join our Strategy, Performance and Improvement Division as part of North East Metro Health Service Partnership (Partnership). The Partnership includes the following health services: Austin Health, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Eastern Health, Northern Health, Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Mercy Hospital for Women (Heidelberg) and Forensicare in partnership with the Eastern Melbourne and North Western Melbourne Primary Health Networks.

The Partnership has an ambitious vision to design and implement contemporary shared service models with the aim of improving patient outcomes and experience, as well as access, quality and efficiency of care.

Elective surgery reform is a key priority for the NEMHSP and is supported by the $21.6 million 2021-22 State Budget program to improve elective surgery care, the $300 million elective surgery blitz funded through the 2020-21 State Budget, and the further $136 million provided by the 2021-22 State Budget.

The Project Director NEMHSP Elective Surgery will deliver a partnership approach to the reform of elective surgery across North East Metropolitan Melbourne.

The Project Director will report to the Executive Director North East Metro Health Service Partnership and will work very closely with executives and senior clinical staff from all partner health services in developing and implementing a reform program including a coordinating a competitive EOI process to obtain reform funding.

The Partnership’s approach will involve other important stakeholders, including consumers, to plan, coordinate, monitor and deliver on key surgical reforms, as appropriate and agreed with the Executive Director.
