**Costumier Assistant**

**$24.91 per hour Part Time, 6 month contract**

**Movie World, Oxenford, Gold Coast**

**About the role**:
Utilise your creative and organizational skills Our Assistant Costumier pattern makes, cuts, sews, mends, launders and packs and stores costumes, uniforms and props for the Movie World & Sea World Park’s day trade as well as for special events, functions, promos and tours.

**Duties**:

- Sort costumes into wardrobe racking and storage rails maintaining the proper storage and order of this system
- Manufacture costumes to a proficient standard by using your specialist skills in the following - complete garment assembly, advanced pattern making, exclusive garment cutting, character costume sewing and sculpting, as directed by supervisors
- Deliver appropriate costumes to correct venue as rostered
- Assist in dressing of all in park shows or in park auditions as rostered
- Ensure and follow all company policies and procedures as they appear in company manuals and as directed
- If required to drive a motor vehicle have a current valid license for that vehicle type
- Assisting with fittings and measurement taking
- Work with other company divisions to produce and provide costumes for their use
- Liaise with and assist technical Services in production, repair and maintenance of all Special Effects costume
- Assist in the preparation of costumes required for outside of the park for promotions and sales tours including packing and shipping, ensuring all the costumes being sent are complete as approved
- Operate laundry equipment, following all policies and procedures
- Provide high standards of customer service.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Accredited training/Industry experience equivalent to Cert 2 or 3 in garment assembly and pattern drafting.
- Industry experience equivalent to Cert 2 or 3 Level of sewing skills
- Skilled communicator with great interpersonal skills
- Relevant health and safety knowledge desired
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be available to work on any day including weekends and school holidays
