Work full time and study towards a Certificate III in children's services.

Your responsibilities and Job Describtion would be as follows;
**Strategic responsibilities**
- I assist the room and promote teamwork
- I promote meaningful interactions with children
- I know the regulation, NQS, policies and procedures
- I promote professional behaviour
- I promote partnerships with families
- I take responsibility for hygiene in my room
- I take responsibility of managing my time to ensure all my assignments are complete on time

**Developing partnerships with families**
- Saying hello to parents using their name as soon as they enter the room
- Having conversations with parents after greeting them about things like their jobs or hobbies (which we are already familiar with), how their days been, what their child learnt, who they played with, their child’s activities and interests outside the service, what’s happening at the family home
- Thinking about ho families may feel and what they may think of our actions and practices
- Displaying learning documentation like art, photos, learning stories and the daily program so it looks beautiful and invites families to engage with it
- Sharing information with families and encouraging them to share information about their child, home routine and daily lives with us

**Developing trusting relationships with children**
- Making children feel safe, secure and supported e.g. by explaining what we are doing, what we are doing and being aware of their feelings and needs
- Focusing on getting to know parents and families well enough so families feel comfortable sharing information that supports their child’s learning and development
- Including information families have shared in our daily curriculum and in our conversation and interactions with children
- Listening to children, asking for their ideas and suggestions, talking with them using open ended questions (so answer is more than yes or no_ and giving warm and loving responses and non-verbal cues
- Sharing our individual strengths, hobbies, interests etc. so these can be used to strengthen and enrich our curriculum

**Developing relationships with people, groups and organizations in our community**
- Developing existing links educators or families have with the community which many benefit children’s learning and development e.g. excursions, incursions, learning activities based on children’s or family’s links with community e.g. through sport, music, culture, work, hobbies, services
- Connecting families with community services which support parenting and children health and wellbeing

**Working as a team**
- Sharing information and knowledge about children, families and teaching practices with others in the room
- Valuing other educators’ opinions and acting on them where appropriate
- Always speaking about others in a way we’d like to be discussed and focusing on others strengths or potential rather than weaknesses

- Immediately removing risks and cleaning spills
- Ensuring children noses, faces, hands and bottoms are always clean

- Always dressing appropriately and being clean and well groomed
- Maintaining confidentiality at all time
- Always speaking positively about our service and colleagues to family, friends and our community
- Ensuring our behaviour outside the service reflects our role as early childhood professionals
- Following our complaint procedure, and not drawing colleagues or others into the conflict
- Ensuring our room/bathroom is always fresh, clean and inviting

**Understanding the regulations, NQS, policies and procedures and learning outcomes**
- Having a good working knowledge of the regulation, NQS, policies and procedure
- Always referring to the regulations, NQS, policies and procedures before we ask someone for help
- Always assessing what children know, can do and understand against the learning outcomes
- Always following our policies and procedures
- Always knowing the number of staff we need for the number of children present
