About The Team
The School of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for the training of veterinary science graduates within our internationally recognised and AVMA-accredited degree programme. A central part of training is development of core clinical competencies, and as part of this process, veterinary students participate in the clinical services within our Animal Hospital.
The Clinical pathology technical support has the responsibility for operating and maintaining undergraduate and postgraduate teaching labs along with preparing, developing, designing and constructing teaching activities. Whether teaching, research or external engagement activities the group manages the technical requirements that service the needs of the University community.
The technical support also runs laboratory samples for TAHMU to support teaching and patient care.

Your New Role
A Lecturer within the Clinical or Professional Practice Scholar track is expected to develop scholarly teaching and professional activities relevant to the discipline. This position contributes to the teaching effort of the discipline through the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, other types of teaching activities, as well as participating within the clinical activity of the hospital. The person in this position is also expected to perform a range of administrative and service functions within the College and across the University.
Your Key responsibilities will include
- Participate in the Clinical Pathology service at the Animal Hospital
- Contribute to teaching within the discipline, including preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and clinical sessions.
- Develop and practice innovative teaching and learning methods within the discipline of Community Practice.
- Consult with, and provide advice to, undergraduate, postgraduate and HDR students.

This Continuous, Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $108,849 - $128,939 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience of teaching of veterinary students in pathology.
- A degree in Veterinary Science registrable with the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board of Western Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction only, exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities and work effectively as a team member.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team.
- Demonstrated high levels of written and oral communication skills in English.
