AWS Tester will join the Product Team to have an active role in shaping our AWS testing and direction. You will be working with a team of developers and Engineers to ensure AWS backend integrity and consistency.
You must be proficient in Automation Testing in Cloud-hosted Unix environments with 2 - 3 years of experience in designing and developing Python programs and Bash Scripts for data curation and processing. You will be involved in testing APIs, Web Apps, ingesting data from external sources, data transformation and consumption processes.
You will collate and manage the overall test strategy. In your role you will be assisting with test scenario design and test script execution whilst structuring tests in accordance with the Agile Test Pyramid. You will establish, use, and monitor test automation. You will produce test progress reports based on input from yourself, test team members, whilst also engaging business / end users during the production of test scenarios and scripts.
This role requires someone who can work positively with all stakeholders, meet deadlines, and manage schedules.
This is a fixed term role for 12 months.

**The key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Support the definition of the AWS test strategy and plan, including writing and execution of automation test scripts, manual integration, and acceptance tests.
- Understand functional requirements, translate into test Cases, and execute test cases to validate APIs, WebApps and Data processing on AWS Cloud platform.
- Support investigation of issues with production deployment and identification of corrective actions.
- Test and deploy data pipelines.
- Defining and documenting best practices regarding infrastructure maintenance.
- Take a risk approach to testing priorities, understand AWS security model, identify risks, and mitigate these wherever possible.
- Work with the AWS Engineer and collaborate with the development team to actively acquire information from stakeholders (rather than relying entirely on written specifications)
- Monitor and improve automated testing. Identify and test solutions to transform environments and CI/CD tooling to improve scalability and leverage automation.
- Attend daily stand-up meetings, sprint ceremonies and other agile meetings, as necessary

About you

- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of AWS storage, compute and serverless services, particularly S3, Lambda, Kinesis.
- 3+ years of experience with testing and writing automation scripts for AWS server less and Lambda functions / API / AWS Fargate.
- 3+ years of experience with test plan creation and test data aggregation and analysis from remote resources.
- 3+ years of experience in writing test automation scripts, building test automation frameworks with Python.
- 3+ years of experience in managing Unix based (Linux distributions) AWS instances and BASH scripting.
- Strong knowledge and hands on expertise in at least one of the database technologies like - SQL (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres), NoSQL
- Hands on experience with at least one major CI platforms for creating and executing tests like Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
- Experience in AWS CodeDeploy preferred.
- Experience working with one or more of the tools - CodePipeline, TestLink, StormRunner preferred.
- Certified as AWS Cloud practitioner.
- Experience connecting and integrating with at least one of the following platforms: Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS
- Experience running automated tests in virtualised environments (Docker).
- Demonstrated experience in agile software development, principles, and values
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement.
