**A role with unique responsibilities;**
Reporting through to the Donor, Counselling and Surrogacy Manager, the Fertility Counsellor role exists to lead Repromed counselling services and provide our patients with exceptional counselling and support through their fertility journey.
This position includes the following responsibilities:

- Provision of patient counselling services throughout fertility treatment relating to:

- Implications and risks
- decision making
- support and therapeutic counselling
- grief and loss
- relationship and adjustment to pregnancy counselling
- Provision of counselling to all donors, donor recipients and respective partners prior to treatment.
- Support the Senior Counsellor and the Donor and Surrogacy Department in the provision of counselling services within SA and NT
- Compliance and proactive contribution to Repromed counselling policies, procedures and improvement projects.

To best support our Patients this role includes some Saturdays and evening clinics on a rostered system.

**Who is right for the role?**

**Ideally you will bring**:

- Counselling experience in all facets of counselling but ideally a medical setting
- Demonstrated understanding of psychosocial implications of infertility
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act and knowledge of relevant ethical guidelines
- Demonstrated experience of working autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated experience in working with diverse client populations
- Demonstrated understanding of mental health issues and previous experience of providing mental health care
- A willingness to fit in and embrace the Monash IVF Group Principles

**Must-haves**:

- Eligibility for membership of the Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA)
- Relevant qualifications - Psychology/ Social Work Degree
