**Full time Position**
Salary $75,000 per annum + superannuation
We are busy, and seeking an experiencedlandscape gardener to join our team.
**Overview**
Work involves hard and soft landscaping, including installing play equipment items and maintenance of existing play spaces.
**Duties and responsibilities**
- Analyse nature-based play space landscape designs, including layout of levels, areas for lawn/artificial turf, paths, location of planned play equipment items, retaining walls, trees, other plants, etc.
- Plan and design outdoor environments, including gardens, parks, and residential or commercial landscapes.
- Interpret drawings, plans, and specifications to arrange for necessary materials and tools.
- Clear and prepare areas, e.g. levels of the site, for appropriate hard landscaping (e.g. installing equipment/furniture, paving, limestone block retaining walls) and soft landscaping (e.g. planting plants and trees)
- Select and plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants according to design
- Machine / tool use and maintenance
- Reticulation preparation and installation
- Prepare soil appropriately for planting and lawn, to facilitate healthy growth
- Install artificial turf and construct gravel and paved areas, walls, fences, decking, play areas, pathways, benches and play equipment/ furniture
- Planting set out / planting
- Operate and maintain gardening machinery and tools, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and chainsaws.
- Maintenance including all aspects of landscape gardening: edging, weeding, topping up mulch and sand, monitor and maintain planted and lawn areas, planting, pruning trees and plants, blowing, weed control, and some timber maintenance, e.g. staining, etc.
**Qualifications / Experience**
Certificate III or IV qualification desirable or Three Years’ Relevant Experience
Experience with landscaping related to children’s play spaces
**Skills**
- Landscape construction (e.g., building walls, paths, decks, pergolas).
- Plant knowledge (identifying species, appropriate plant selection for different environments).
- Garden maintenance (pruning, mowing, pest management, fertilizing).
- Soil preparation (cultivating, conditioning, and fertilizing soils).
- Irrigation system installation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape designs and plans.
- Safe operation of landscaping machinery (e.g., chainsaws, mowers, excavators).
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
