**Position Information**:
James Ruse Agricultural High School, located in Carlingford in North Western Sydney, is a coeducational, academically selective high school with an enrolment of 850 students, including 97% from a non-English speaking background. The school aims to provide highly gifted students with learning driven by curiosity and challenge. Our staff help our students develop skills, knowledge and perspectives with an emphasis on collaboration, self-direction and pedagogy that inspires lifelong learning. Our broad curriculum, including an accelerated study of Agriculture for all students from Years 7-10, and a plethora of varied co-curricular experiences helps to develop students into active citizens who will make positive contributions to the world.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Proven capacity to?lead whole-school administration to manage the day-to-day operations of the school including staff absences, casual employment, and variations to routine.
- Effective organisational, time-management and interpersonal skills to manage the demands of administration of, and communicating with, the whole school community.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the executive team to lead, manage and implement processes that address whole school priorities and build capacity, contributing to a cycle of continuous improvement.
- Experience using school and departmental procedures, policies and technology to manage and support the daily organisation, whole-school assessment processes and student support in a busy school.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
