Quality & Risk Assurance Officer

UGL Defence was recently awarded the Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance contract of the Defence Fuels Network. We are recruiting a Quality & Risk Assurance Officer to join our business in what is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Risk and Assurance Manager, the Quality & Risk Assurance Officer - Eastern Region, will be centrally based in Sydney, overseeing sites and locations across Eastern states of Australia. The role is responsible for, but not limited to:
You as part of the team, will:

- Adopt UGL Core Values and support the management of UGL One HSE Culture
- Travel frequently to sites nationally for audits and to meet team members
- Engage as part of our community, sharing fun times and stories

Quality
- Development of draft plans and audit schedules annually
- Manage and execute Audits (QA / ISO 9001 / UGL / DFMS), and reporting
- Undertake defect and event investigations (Root Cause Analysis (RCA)) and support the implementation of corrective actions
- Providing advice and coaching to Operational and Maintenance site teams on site specific Quality reporting & Analysis for client and management needs
- Monitor workplace behaviours and compliance, actively implement, review and improve the Quality management system

Risk and Issues
- Identify and Register potential risks
- Run / facilitate workshops (risk etc)
- Facilitate maintenance of Register data (for currency)

Opportunities
- Identify ‘Better/Best practices’ not already in place
- Encourage and Facilitate Continuous improvement activities / workshops
- Drive opportunities forward / manage or support associated change management

**On Your First Day we expect you to bring to the team**:

- Required:

- Qualification as an Auditor of Quality Management Systems (or thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 and able to become qualified within 3 months)
- Risk workshop facilitation experience
- Current holder, or ability to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security clearance
- Frequent travel to Defence sites nationally
- Experience, Training or Tertiary qualifications in an area a discipline that develops which utilises critical thinking, problem solving, and thought leadership skills (such as Engineering or Science)

Highly Regarded:
_The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role _
- Proven experience in similar role in Oil & Gas industry or similar high-risk environment
- Awareness of relevant Australian and International standards, both technical and those related
- Hazardous area (and HAZOP) facilitation experience
- Engineering tertiary qualification
