**About the Role**:
Alcohol and Drug Services (ADS) is a part of the division of Mental Health, Justice Health, and Alcohol & Drug Services (MHJHADS), which is a contemporary, evidence-based service providing high quality healthcare for persons experiencing substance use concerns, guided by the principles of harm minimisation. ADS incorporates seven areas, including Opioid Treatment Services, Medical Services, Consultation and Liaison Service, 10 bed Inpatient Withdrawal Service, Police and Court Drug Diversion Service, Drug and Alcohol Sentencing List, and Counselling and Treatment Services.
ADS provides information, advice, referral, intake, assessment, and support for ACT residents experiencing substance use concerns. We offer services for individuals, their family and friends, general practitioners, other health professionals, businesses and community groups. This also includes the provision of high-quality liaison with external stakeholders, consumers, and staff of MHJHADS.
The Co-Occurring Needs Program is a newly established initiative within ADS, designed to support persons across the lifespan who are experiencing complex co-occurring mental ill-health and substance use concerns, and the MHJHADS Teams providing care to this population group. The Co-Occurring Needs Program is seeking a Clinical Lead at the Health Professional Officer Level 4 to provide clinical expertise and guidance regarding co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health concerns. The successful applicant requires public health sector experience in these areas and will be responsible for improving and evaluating the quality of services provided to persons who present with co-occurring needs. The Co-Occurring Needs Program Clinical Lead role involves provision of consultation, liaison, education and clinical advice to MHJHADS teams regarding best practice for the integrated treatment and support of persons experiencing co-occurring needs.
This position reports to the ADS Senior Manager and involves regular liaison and collaborative work with other MHJHADS program areas, government and non-government services in the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) and mental health sectors, and other external stakeholders.
ADS Team Members are required and supported to undertake professional development, engage in clinical supervision, participate in quality improvement and service development initiatives, and contribute to multidisciplinary team processes.

- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the _Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011_ is required.
