**Who we are**
The Portfolio Strategy Division is the department's central policy area. The division supports our ministers and the department to engage with the complex cross-cutting policy challenges in Australian climate, energy, environment and water policy. We lead on the Cabinet and Budget processes, strategic policy, First Nations policy, whole-of-portfolio projects, and work to build the department's policy capability.

The Communication and Media Branch delivers excellent strategic communication advice and services that puts our audiences first for a more prosperous and sustainable Australia. This includes the delivery of communication strategies, campaigns, research, procurement and all staff event management to support the priorities of the department and government. We also manage the department’s digital platforms and websites, social media channels and Contact Centre, and provide media support, and creative (video and design) services across the department and for our ministerial offices.

Strategic Communication Research and Insights Section
The Strategic Communication Research and Insights section works in partnership with departmental clients to lead and deliver communication research and data analytics. By leveraging quantitative and qualitative research methods, we provide actionable evidence-based insights to tackle communications challenges and address mis
- and disinformation.

Corporate Communications and Creative Services Section
The Corporate Communications and Creative Services section drives employee engagement through events and storytelling to ensure staff are aware of the department’s strategic priorities. The section provides communication support to the Secretary and executive as well as developing, implementing and evaluating corporate communication strategies, managing the department’s internal communication channels and delivering event activities.

Digital Services and User Design Section
The Digital Services and Design section are a multi-disciplinary team of content designers and digital specialists. We believe in the power of connecting user needs with departmental objectives through the delivery of clear, concise, audience and task-focused communication products.

Communication Procurement Section
The Communication Procurement section manages contracts with suppliers to order DCCEEW-branded items and the related procurement portal. The team assists both internal and external stakeholders to fulfill their procurement needs, working closely with the department’s other procurement teams to ensure a consistent approach to procurement and contract management across the department.

**Senior Communication Research Analyst, Strategic Communication Research and Insights**:

In this position you will be responsible for:

- Conducting quantitative and/or qualitative research, leveraging various research methods and data tools to undertake analysis and ensure validity and reliability.
- Performing analysis on emerging themes, narratives, sentiment and trends related to priority policies across social media and other media platforms.
- Interpreting and presenting data in a range of creative ways to enable stakeholders to understand and act on the insights.

**Senior Events and Communications Officer, Corporate Communications and Creative Services**:

- Canberra_
This position is operationally required as in person in the Canberra central office to support event planning and delivery with direction from the Events Manager. In this job you will be responsible for:

- Contributing to the planning and delivery of internal and external events, taking responsibility for key tasks and ensuring successful on the day event delivery for in-person and live streamed events using MS Teams.
- Liaising with suppliers to seek quotes, understand scope of services, and provide recommendations.
- Managing compliance with departmental procurement, financial and safe work requirements.
- Developing communication plans to promote internal and external all staff events and days of significance.
- Contributing to post-event reporting and evaluation, with a commitment to identifying and implementing improvements.
- Professionalism in engaging with stakeholders from the senior leadership cohort, their representatives, and external suppliers, and understanding the wider operating context.
- Supporting other areas of the section on project delivery.
