Investigations Officer

The Investigations Officer is part of the Victorian Building Authorities Investigations team and is responsible for assessing and investigating referrals from a range of internal and external sources.
In this role, the Investigations Officer is required to identify breaches of building legislation, regulations and professional standards.
This will involve conducting interviews, preparing reports and detailed briefs of evidence, participating in court proceedings, providing advice and information to the building industry.
To be considered for this position you will have demonstrated experience working as an Investigations officer, a Cert IV in Government investigations or higher qualifications.
**What we are looking for**:
- Demonstrated experience in a compliance or regulatory environment undertaking investigations, preparing reports and/or briefs of evidence with the ability to undertake analysis and reporting of data.
- Proven communications skills, both written and oral and interpersonal skills, demonstrated in the undertaking of investigations, analysing information, pursuing lines of inquiry, assessing evidence and preparing reports.
- Ability to keep up to date on the changing landscape across the building industry, including relevant training, legislation, codes and interpretive manuals.
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities for generating workplace innovation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and taking responsibility for initiating outcomes.
