**About the role**:
Thales Australia provides logistics services expertise to our customer, the Australian Defence Force. The logistics business provides storage, maintenance and distribution to the Department of Defence in an ongoing contractual agreement.

You will primarily be responsible for ensuring the Security, Safety, Environment and Quality Management Systems are maintained and adhered to.

Within the logistics services business there are 17 depots throughout Australia which allows various development opportunities as we strongly believe in promoting from within where possible.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Safety
- Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and regulations
- Monitor and support risk management processes.
- Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments.
- Investigate and instigate corrective and preventative actions for hazards, injuries, incidents and other systems failures impacting on health and safety.
- Assist in the compliance activities relating to Commonwealth Authority (Comcare) Major Hazardous Facilities (MHF) Regulations for the Region.
- Implement, maintain and review Safety Management Systems

Security
- Ensure regional compliance with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and Defence Security Manual (DSM) requirements. To satisfy this responsibility the incumbent will act as Security Officers for all depots within the region
- Implementing and coordinating security measures for classified material and operations
- Investigating, making recommendations and preparing reports of security breaches and potential incidents
- Conduct security inspections, random security checks and close of business security checks
- Liaising with the Defence Security Authority and other related departments
- Arranging combination changes and lock servicing in accordance with policy and procedures

Systems / Quality
- Maintain records management, document and data control
- Compile documents, conduct word processing and database management

**Skills and Experience**:

- Cert IV in WHS (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent judgement and initiative in order to resolve a wide range of technical issues
- Experience in managing workplace HSE requirements
- Sound knowledge, experience and understanding of HSE Legislation
