**6. POSITION OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVES**:
The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for driving Fernlea’s fundraising program to increase
income, support and engagement.

The role will implement the fundraising strategy, including achieving or exceeding fundraising
targets, organising fundraising events and activities, growing donor and supporter numbers,
including inspiring and connecting them to our organisation, and showing them the impact of their
support.

**7. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
**a. Qualifications & Experience**

**i. **Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of achieving
fundraising targets

**ii. **Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector is highly desirable.

**b. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
**i. **Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write for a

variety of audiences
**ii. **Ability to build sustainable and successful relationships with donors and supporters

**iii. **Ability to manage competing priorities and to meet deadlines
**iv. **Good judgement, and the proven ability to use that in making decisions in the best

interests of the organisation
**v. **Proven ability to work autonomously

**vi. **Sound practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms and
fundraising platforms

**c. Personal Attributes**
**i. **A proactive and positive attitude

**ii. **High levels of integrity, respect and sound judgement leading to good decisions

**8. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
**a. Fundraising**

**i. **Ensure the fundraising strategy is implemented to achieve Fernlea’s strategic goals and
budget targets

**ii. **Identify opportunities to grow and develop new income streams through fundraising
events and campaigns

**iii. **Monitor all fundraising activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and
laws, satisfaction of participants and/or partners, and resolution of any problems that
arise

**iv. **Ensure fundraising content and collateral is kept up to date
**v. **Recruit, manage and communicate with volunteers for events and fundraising

activities**
**b. Donors and Supporters**
**i. **Develop and implement donor acquisition and retention strategies in order to grow

the donor and supporter database
**ii. **Ensure regular effective communication is maintained with donors and supporters

**iii. **Ensure donor records are accurate and kept up to date
**iv. **Process donations and correspondence as required

**vi. **Assist with general administrative tasks as required

**c. Reporting & Communication**
**i. **Provide reports to the Marketing Manager and other Fernlea personnel as required

**ii. **Ensure regular communication with the CEO, including advising of any real or emerging
issues and risks**
**d. Occupational Health & Safety**
**i. **Ensure you are familiar with and adhere to the OH&S policy at all times

**ii. **Immediately report any current or potential hazards
**iii. **Participate in problem solving processes to resolve OH&S issues and ensure a safe and

healthy workplace for all
