My client is a leading provider of diesel fuel injection services, repairs, and parts solutions in Australia. With a rich history of technological innovation in diesel engine sub-systems, we maintain strong partnerships with major manufacturers across the country. They are currently seeking an experienced **Light or Heavy Vehicle Technician** to join their team at their Wetherill Park branch.
- Permanent Position
- Monday to Friday
- $70K - $80K + Super (Depending on experience)
As a **Light or Heavy Vehicle Technician**, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal operation of diesel equipment. This includes conducting inspections, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing vehicle conditions, and making necessary adjustments and repairs. Your work will contribute to the reliability and performance of diesel vehicles and machinery.
- **Specific Responsibilities (not limited to)**:_
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle conditions, identifying worn or damaged components.
- Maintain equipment readiness through scheduled preventative maintenance, installation of components and upgrades, corrosion control, and winterization procedures.
- Address vehicle deficiencies by disassembling, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, and replacing major assemblies, subassemblies, components, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical systems, air conditioning, fuel systems, emissions systems, brakes, steering, and hydraulics.
- Verify vehicle performance through test drives and adjustments of controls and systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintain accurate vehicle records by documenting services and repairs.
- Keep shop equipment operational by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and reporting defects as required.
- Manage costs by utilising warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technical regulations through participation in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Enhance the maintenance department's and organisation's reputation by taking ownership of new and unique requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Maintain a high level of workmanship, aiming for 90% accuracy, with rework not exceeding 2%.
- Exercise utmost care for client vehicles while in our custody.
- Complete vehicle checklists and job cards, ensuring they are filled out and signed upon completion.
- Report any workplace damages promptly to the manager.
- **Additional Responsibilities**:_
- Maintain a clean and organised workplace and workstation, returning tools to their designated places.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Service, Operations, or General Manager in the workshop or fuel shop.
- Perform only work within your capability and notify the Service Manager of any need for assistance or additional training.
- Contribute to the maintenance of equipment.
- Comply with ISO standards.
- KPI Responsibilities:
- Complete jobs within allocated timeframes.
- Effective time management.
