Our host is an Australian Leader in the packaging industry and have a full time apprenticeship position available in their Engineering Mechanical team. This is an environment that enables you to learn a wide range of skills in Mechanical Engineering, and you could elevate your training to higher levels, from Automation and digital technician roles, through to managerial positions post apprenticeship.

With this apprenticeship opportunity, you are not only learning a trade but learning about a wide range of innovative projects, and engineering concepts that are at the cutting edge of technology.

You will learn and gain skills in a wide range of metal, electronics, and engineering design principles.

**Your duties include**:

- Examining and understanding detailed drawings and specifications to determine the requirements for the task
- Operate and adjust metalworking machines to create parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding, or drilling metal stock or components
- Using hand and machine tools, welding equipment, and CNC machines
- Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
- Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies
- Operating lathes, machining centres, sheet metal folders, and benders
- Wide variety of welding practices including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding

**Desirable requirements**:

- Driver’s license and reliable transport
- Eagerness to learn new skills
- Positive approach to workplace safety
- Minimum Year 11 Schooling
