**The Role**
Reporting to the Director Health Information Office and providing support to the Chief Health Information Officer, the Governance Manager will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Chief Health Information Officer to deliver the function of the Health Domain Information Steward.
- Having an in depth knowledge of legislative frameworks relating to health information.
- Leading and mentoring the health records team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
- Planning, leading and managing the development, implementation and maintenance of Defence Health Policy relating to sharing and release of health information.
- Identifying opportunities for building capability of the health records team and undertaking continuous improvement activities.
- Building and maintaining relationships with a range of key stakeholders across Defence in relation to health information governance matters.
- Knowledge of procurement and contract management to support an integrated workforce.
**About our Team**
The Health Information Office (HIO) supports Joint Health Command to enable a healthy, ready and supported Force from enlistment to transition through the delivery of reliable, resilient, affordable and best practice health services. HIO also supports health information requests from the Navy, Army and Air Force. HIO has three streams of work across three teams: health records; health information; and health system insights.
The health records team operate in a fast paced environment and are responsible for the provision of health records in response to requests from current serving ADF members; third-parties; Court orders, Comcare, Freedom of Information and the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
In addition to leading the health records team, the Governance Manager will provide advice and support to the Health Information and Health System Insights mangers on matters relating to health information governance.
