**What You Will Be Doing**

The Instrument Technician is an integral member of the CSSD team responsible for a range of duties that contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. As a member of the C.S.S.D. team all staff are expected to become multi-skilled and capable of working in all areas of the department under direction. This position is seeking a Grade 4 Technician who is wanting to develop in the role and take on a Supervisory Role for 16 hours a fortnight

Key Responsibilities
- The Instrument Technician (Grade 4) is accountable for the provision of all aspects in the sterilising process, in line with AS/NZ 4187, guidelines and policies of Peninsula Health.
- Promote the maintenance of a safe environment, in accordance with legislative requirements and Peninsula Health Policies. This includes the Policies relating to Occupation Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control and Equal Opportunity.
- Completion of relevant CSSD competencies with the timelines specified

**What You Need**

We anticipate you will have:

- Holds a Certificate IV in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent, awarded by a registered training organisation that has been approved by the AIC.
- Minimum 12 months experience working as an Instrument Technician.
- Commitment to achieving best practice.
- Willingness to maintain and advance knowledge and skills relevant to that position.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentially and use discretion in all aspects of the role.
