**About**The Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS)**
- ICYMHS provides tertiary mental health services to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne (currently the local government areas of Banyule, Boroondara, Darebin, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Yarra). Young people eligible for the service are predominantly aged 0-18 years with implementation underway to provide services for those aged up to 25 years. It is an exciting time for Austin as the ICYMHS directorate will be expanding in response to the recommendations from the Victorian Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health Services (2021).

**About the Role**
- The ICYMHS NYCT (Northern Youth Community Team) Team within Austin Health plays a crucial role in providing timely and effective assessment, treatment, and post-discharge support for young people presenting with high acuity mental health needs. As a **case manager and mental health worker**, you will be an integral and highly valued member of the multidisciplinary team
- You will:

- Display a clear understanding of and practice in the principles of recovery-orientated, trauma-informed and family-centred, collaborative practice and expertise in engaging young people and their families within a range of settings
- Provide high quality, evidence-based clinical assessment and treatment modalities at an individual or family-system level as indicated by clinical need within available resources
- Work closely with the multi disciplinary team to ensure that care is person-centred, holistic, and responsive to the individual needs of young consumers and their families.
- Support consumers to access mental health services and other relevant community resources to assist in their ongoing treatment and recovery.

- An extensive understanding of recovery-focused care and an ability to work from a strengths-based approach.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and supervision as part of your role.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with young people, their carers and community in support of their recovery.
- A commitment to ensuring safe, best-practice care that puts consumers at the heart of the decision-making process.
