THE PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE:
The Technical Trainer will be Responsible for tactical training and performance support of operators at a site. They must ensure we are training consistently to full competence whilst supporting lean, efficient and safe ways of working for all our people. They will be a key part in maintaining a robust training and assessment system across Rosehill which ensures we meet our Zero Harm responsibilities and can deliver world-class manufacturing.
THE KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE ARE:
- Demonstrate commitment to Zero Harm through reporting incidents, acting as a safety leader, and addressing safety concerns as soon as they are identified
- Support the Plant Training Lead in conducting a training needs analysis annually for the plant, in consultation with stakeholders in the Plant Management team, EHS Manager, Quality Manager, People Partner, HMOS Lead, etc
- Maintain an SOP register and ensure operators are trained consistently to the updated and approved SOPs; addressing highest risk and strategic capabilities as a priority and avoiding fatigue and excessive overtime costs
- Assist with the design and delivery of training to individuals who will undertake training others in SOPs
THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE ARE:
- Support the SMEs to create new or amend existing SOPs. Manage the process of verification with the Department Leader, and ensure the Operations Manager provides written sign off on the SOP. Provide to the Plant Training Lead for publishing on SharePoint.
- Provide training, coaching and feedback to new starters, and those that need to be retrained as a result of sub-optimal performance, upskilling, or a change in process.
- The technical trainer will train to the SOP and, once developed, execute against the training plans established by the Technical Training Leader, APAC.
- Induction of contractors and ad hoc training as required to support the site.
- Use learning technology to digitally record competence against assessment guidelines and ensure any training and assessments are captured online.
- Assist Quality Manager and HMOS Lead with any audit processes; providing documentation as required on the Plant Training and Assessment system
- Deliver training as qualified and required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THESE:
1. SKILLS
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility quickly at all levels within manufacturing and supply chain
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills; the ability to make sound judgements
- Ability to work autonomously, remain organised to achieve goals within the desired
timeframes
- Solid verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with experts, leaders and
operators and document processes, procedures and training & assessment records as
required
- The ability to make design and deliver simple and effective training interventions
- High attention to detail
- Tech savvy and curious, with high learning agility and flexibility of style.
2. KNOWLEDGE
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment preferred
3. EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment, fibre cement production preferred; a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Training and assessing operators in a Manufacturing environment against assessment
guidelines/capability frameworks
- Facilitating workshops and capability programmes
- Involvement in change initiatives and projects
- Exposure to awards / collective agreements / dealing with unions preferred
- Working with a lean 4x4 methodology and driving continuous improvement
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $33.00 - $43.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Supplemental pay types:
