[ Meat Industry ] Hiring entry Level / skilled Factory Process Worker

20+ factory process worker positions are available in a beef processing facility situated in Dandenong South.

Specific positions will be determined according to departmental demand,

however some possible duties will include:

- Packing of meat into boxes;
- Marshalling of carcasses and carton into refrigerator and freezer, manual lifting required;
- General tidying up slaughter floors and boning rooms using shovels and brooms;
- Assisting with removal of hides from carcasses, manual and mechanical;
- Using hydraulic hock cutters to remove fore and hind hock;
- Removal of defects and fat from the carcasses by using a knife;
- Attaching a shackle chain around the rear leg of a cattle;
- Lifting carcasses forelegs into cleats in the slaughter chain;
- Removal of animal tail by using a knife;
Folding pre-cut cardboard into a carton and insert plastic liner.
- Onshore & eligible to work full-time hours in Australia
- Ability to perform repetitive labour tasks, standing for extended hours, working in a low temperature environment
- Reliably commuting (own transport is desirable)
- Willing to undergo Q fever immunisation & meat workers hand-test
- COVID-19 vaccinated (3 doses)

(Q Fever is a zoonotic disease that is often transmitted from livestock to humans. All meat workers in Australia are to get immunised against it, enforced by the legal instrument.)

- Rate: Starting from Level 1. $26.74 per hour (Casual loading 25% included)+ superannuation
- Hours: AM shift (5 am), Monday to Friday, 38-42 hours per week in total
- Overtime penalty: up to 200% of ordinary rate applies
- Work cover insured
- On-the-job training
- PPE provided
