Vr Field Technician

_Broadcast Virtual turns live sports events into advertising platforms without the need for physical signage through the use of augmented reality technology. Our solution allows real-time insertion of virtual advertisements in any type of live sporting event using hardware and software technology developed in house to keep the advertising tied to its field position, regardless of camera motion._

We are looking for a proactive, self motivated individual to join our operations team in Sydney. As part of operations, the role entails delivering VR signage at various stadiums around Australia; with week to week office responsibilities including the preparation for upcoming events.

Straddling graphics, video engineering, CCU, camera operation and video mixing, the VR field technician role provides a unique experience and holistic understanding of the full broadcast stack not found elsewhere; coupled with the opportunity to learn the background of operations planning.

Our medium sized company is growing both domestically and internationally, as is the market desire for virtual signage on live sports. We are a tight knit, easygoing team, with seasoned field exposure across the hierarchy.

We are looking for an applicant that is interested in variety and flexibility. Fieldwork forms the main component of the role, backed by a robust time in lieu system. Office days are predominantly Tuesday to Thursday, with fieldwork dependent on the sports that are being played (Winter usually Thursday to Sunday; Summer has events all week). Typical Days in Lieu are taken on Monday & Tuesday or Friday.

A 6-8 week field technician training program is included as part of the onboarding process.

**Role**
- Reporting to the Australian Operations Manager
- **Field Technician**:

- Attend live sports broadcasts as the primary VR Technician at various sports grounds around Australia and abroad; responsible for the setup, delivery and packdown of the VR system at each event
- Set up, troubleshoot and monitor our in house VR software and tracking equipment, which involves a degree of physical labour
- Quickly identify, remedy and escalate issues or outages
- Be self contained and self sufficient in delivering the product in remote locations
- Comfortable working unusual and long hours (inline with the sports broadcast industry), in all weather conditions
- Domestic and international travel opportunities
- **Weekly operations tasks including but not limited to**:

- Rostering casual and full time staff
- Booking travel
- Arranging freight movements
- General hardware maintenance
- Asset management
- Building systems & racks
- Preparing projects & signage assets
- Other tasks reasonably required by operations management

Experience
- Experience in a technical role in either the broadcast, IT or events industry or similar is highly advantageous but not essential

Required
- Based in Sydney
- Valid passport
- Valid unrestricted drivers licence
- Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
- Own vehicle (not required to transport gear)
