Trainee Civil Drafter

GHD is currently seeking Trainee Civil Drafters/Designers to join our Energy & Resources business. This is a rare opportunity to kick-start your Civil Design career with a diverse organisation, dedicated to the development of our people and their careers.

Supporting a variety of large-scale projects, you will develop your skills and be supported every step of the way within a team environment that is focused on people. Your work will be supported by ongoing training and development, as we support you on your journey from trainee to experienced professional.

On a typical day you will be involved in performing drafting/designing using a variety of design software, while working closely with senior designers and engineers to produce accurate 2D drawing sets and 3D models, in accordance with GHD and our clients’ drafting standards.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Assisting in the production of 2D drawings and 3D models for large-scale civil infrastructure, energy & resources, civil and mining project.
- Collaborating with senior team members on various technical tasks and taking guidance in support of your role
- Conducting specific investigations and assignments
- Developing your knowledge of GHD's Corporate Drafting Manual and other relevant systems, tools and processes

**What you will bring to the role**:

- Enrolled in, nearing completion or recently completed an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering
- QCE (or equivalent) completion with strong academic results in Mathematics and English
- Strong desire to build a rewarding career as a professional drafter/designer
- Well-developed communication skills and a proven attention to detail
- Intermediate computer skills coupled with a positive attitude and a desire to learn
- Genuine interest in technical drawing and engineering
