**Job Description**:
- To carry out duties in a professional manner so as to promote the reputation of the organisation. The position will be responsible for updating and implementing the company’s WHS and QA management plan.
- Review, maintain, implement and improve the company’s WHS, Environmental and QA management plans, policies, procedures and materials throughout the company and promote WHSE in the workplace
- Ensures compliance with local regulatory requirements, Telecommunication WHS Standards and is aligned with organisation strategies, initiatives and goals.
- Develop WHS Project Management, Environment management plans and seek continuous improvement. Collaborate with leaders on WHS issues related to customer requests and implementation of key projects within Australia.
- Provide advice, coach and mentor managers, supervisors, employees and subcontractors to achieve workplace health/safety and environmental objectives and targets
- Ensure a WHS consultation framework is in place that encourages employee participation.
- Plan and participate in the implementation of safety inspections, audits (internal and external) and risk assessments in the office and on-site. Participate and facilitate incident investigation and closure procedures and reporting
- Conduct site inspections of Telecom sites to review supplier WHS practices and complete checklist.
- Participate in daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly WHS reviews and governance meetings.
- Serve as a key WHS contact within the organisation, customers and suppliers and maintain the company’s reputation for excellence in the area of environmental, health and safety.
- Work with clients, towards the goal of 100% compliance, across all levels of WHSEQ management required on projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as Occupational Health and Safety with a minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience in the Telecommunications industry.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation in Australia
- Sound working knowledge of WHSQ/Risk Management legislation and principles.
- Excellent communications and organisational skills with supervisors and customers.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Able to work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
