SBS is an increasingly important voice in mainstream media, as Australia’s multilingual broadcasting service, working in tandem with NITV, the national Indigenous broadcaster.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a passionate journalist/producer to be an editorial supervisor to our digital current affairs team, and play a leading role in our original digital commissions for The Feed, Insight and Dateline

**About the role**

You will be:

- Overseeing pitching and commissioning, and supervising production of original digital articles and videos, for The Feed, Insight and Dateline
- Implementing our digital content strategy and adding your touch to original digital stories
- Using well developed journalistic skills to provide guidance on editorial matters, and ensure content meets SBS Codes and Guidelines
- Providing leadership and support for our thriving digital current affairs team
- Overseeing management of social platforms for SBS current affairs

**About you**

You must be an experienced journalist & producer with a track record in editorial leadership or a drive to step up into this. You’ll jump at the chance to tell stories that matter, and be brimming with ideas for short docs, digital videos and compelling articles.

You’ll also have
- Demonstrated experience as a current affairs producer / reporter with a thorough knowledge of telling audience-first stories
- A demonstrated an understanding of media law, as well as the importance of balance and impartiality in reporting.
- Strong understanding of video production, digital storytelling and a solid understanding of how people consume current affairs in online and mobile formats
- A commitment to maintaining our editorial integrity and high standards of accuracy.
- An interest in visual storytelling, and a hunger to stay across new developments and trends in journalism and digital media, using innovative ways to reach and engage wider audiences.
- A passion for mentorship and working within a supportive team environment
