The NSW Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population.

We have temporary and permanent teaching opportunities available in the Mount Druitt Network.

**About the Mount Druitt Network**

Mount Druitt Network serves communities in Sydney’s north-west and is home to approximately 8,000 students across 19 schools. The student population is richly diverse, with approximately 25% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 40% from Pacific Islander backgrounds. The network includes 12 primary schools, three of which offer public preschool programs, five secondary schools that form Chifley College, and two schools for specific purposes.

Strong partnerships with community organisations and other government agencies underpin a holistic approach to breaking barriers in order to achieve equity and excellence. These collaborations reflect the network’s commitment to fostering an environment where every student can thrive.

Within the Mount Druitt Network, there is a strong emphasis on explicit teaching, high-quality curriculum implementation, and inclusive practices. Guided by a shared mission to achieve equity of opportunity, experience, and outcomes, leaders, teachers, and support staff work collaboratively to identify and implement practices that have the greatest impact on students’ learning and wellbeing. This personalised approach ensures that each student is supported as they prepare for and transition into productive post-school pathways. Strong partnerships with industry and further education providers enrich these opportunities.

Mount Druitt Network schools prioritise student wellbeing by working closely with their communities to establish coordinated strategies that promote positive behaviour and school culture. School Behaviour Support and Management Plans articulate these strategies across the care continuum, reflecting a commitment to fostering safe and supportive environments. Additionally, trauma-informed practices are widely applied, ensuring that staff are equipped to respond sensitively and effectively to the needs of all students.

**Selection Criteria**:
**To express interest you must**:

- Currently reside in Australia
- Have a minimum of a four-year qualification, such as:

- a four-year teaching degree (e.g. Bachelor of Education) or a combined degree (e.g. Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education)
- an undergraduate degree (e.g. Bachelor of Science) and a graduate entry teaching degree (e.g. Master of Teaching).
- Hold current teaching accreditation / registration from an Australian state authority
- Have at least 2 years of post-graduate teaching experience in a secondary setting within the last 5 years

**Applicants must have or be willing to obtain provisional or proficient teacher accreditation and full Approval to Teach.**

**Conditions**:
Please note: To be eligible to teach in NSW public schools, you must be willing to obtain a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, a paid Working with Children Check and, if it applies to your position, meet the COVID-19 vaccination requirements. You will need these before you are formally offered employment or commence work.
