Mortuary (Pathology) Aide

Assist in the controlled release of bodies; and preparation of deceased for viewing and identification purposes, and provide assistance to the pathologist with photography of deceased and collection, labelling and processing of specimens.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate, or rapidly acquire the skills to demonstrate the following:

- Pathology laboratory experience with ability to follow both written and oral instruction and identify and solve problems methodically.
- Reliability, integrity, and professional attitude necessary for a medico-legal and potentially hazardous workplace.
- Sound judgement, ability to think critically, effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to work in a team and contribute positively to team outcomes.
- Ability to proactively maintain a safe, secure and clean working environment and an understanding of and willingness to contribute to the relevant systems, processes and procedures.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- It may be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR),varicella (chicken pox),pertussis (whooping cough),hepatitis B, tuberculosis
- Additional vaccinations including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies may also be required for this position.
- Please detail any visa conditions you may have if you are not a permanent resident of Australia.
