You’ll be able to work close to home in a dynamic setting featuring cafes and retail options set amongst heritage buildings and open green spaces. **The Opportunity** Reporting to the Lead Finance Transformation, the successful applicant will play a key role as the conduit between the Finance and the wider operations of the organisation delivering a range of high-quality financial analysis, advice and support to assist management decision making. A key priority is to add value and insight through business partnering with Managers and budget owners across the business. This critical position will deliver accurate and timely financial information, working with Enterprise and Project Management Office (ePMO) and project managers to oversee budget and forecast. Ensuring delivery of accurate and timely financial information, budget preparation, monitoring and reporting, contributes to business planning and ensures Business Units have the necessary support and information to enable effective and best practice financial management. **Key Responsibilities** - Partner with the Enterprise and Project Management Office (ePMO) and project managers to ensure projects within capital works and operating projects are managed within the Council’s financial constraints. Additionally, oversee budgeting and forecasting of capital works and operating projects. - Develop a strong knowledge of stakeholders and anticipate and respond to their needs. - Provide support, advice and training relating to the various accounting, finance and reporting systems as well as contribute to improvement that enhances the functionality of the system. - Prepare and co-ordinate the timely and accurate information for the preparation of the annual budget, long term financial plan, quarterly and monthly financial management reports, capital works reports, Key Performance Indicators and other regulatory reporting requirements. To view the **Position Description**, click **here**. **About you** **_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_** - Tertiary qualification in accounting commerce or related discipline with membership of CPA or CA or recognized professional accounting body or equivalent. - Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and financial reporting with the ability to exemplify financial management best practice. - Proven skills and experience in developing and maintaining effective partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders. - Highly developed interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, particularly in the provision of professional financial advice and support to Managers and staff with limited financial training. **Culture and Values** Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there’s a place here for you too.
