**Flourish Australia has multiple brand new exciting opportunities for People Connectors to join our new and growing team in South Australia**:
The positions available are:
- **Closed-term full-time 6 month contract starting in early September**:
- **Working a rotating roster between Monday and Saturday**:

- **Level 4 **on the Flourish Australia Enterprise Agreement (2018) equivalent to** $77,000 per annum + 11% Super + Tax-Free Salary Packaging**
**About the Opportunities**:
People Connectors of the Assisting Communities through Direct Connection (ACDC) Project use Proactive Outreach approach to engage and connect with householders aged 18 years and over. The Proactive Outreach approach of door knocking in selected sites provides an opportunity for people to talk, be heard, and be given information about free mental health & wellbeing services and supports in their communities.
Householders are invited to have a meaningful and respectful conversation about their mental health and wellbeing, their experiences and challenges, as well as those of their families, friends, and the wider community. People Connectors offer an information booklet and fridge magnet with relevant mental health and other support services available. People Connectors can assist a householder with additional information or provide support to be referred and linked with a service.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Engage with the key community members within the selected site, and the broad mental health and wellbeing community-based services, organisations, initiatives, and programs that operate within the area.
- Promote the ACDC Project to community members and representatives of community-based services, organisations, initiatives, and programs.
- Develop, in consultation with the Line Manager, an Activity Plan_ _that includes site safety concerns and a roster of door knocking activities.
- Understand the referral processes required for householders to connect with a variety of different support options.
- Network and work collaboratively with support services, government agencies and other appropriate service providers in order to provide householders with seamless referral pathways.
- Quickly build rapport and encourage householders to have a meaningful and respectful conversation about their mental health and wellbeing and provide information products.
- Promoting positive community awareness of the services provided by Flourish Australia and generate a positive attitude in the community towards people with a lived experience of a mental health issue.

**Selection Criteria**:
- A Certificate IV or above in Mental Health, Peer Worker or a relevant field.
- A minimum of 12 months experience working in the community in a mental health setting or related field.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a mental health issue.
- Demonstrated strong time management skills including prioritisation of competing tasks and an ability to work innovatively to solve complex issues.
- Understanding of public sector and community-based service systems relevant to people with a lived experience of a mental health issue and psychosocial disability and demonstrated experience navigating such systems and using capacity building and education to achieve positive results.
- Demonstrated strong communication, advocacy and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and facilitate outcomes.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Desirable:_
- A personal lived experience of a mental health issue or carer of a person with lived experience.
- Knowledge and skills in motivational interviewing.
- Skills in data collection and recording qualitative information.
