MRAEL in Partnership with Peacock Bros are looking for an Apprentice Printer at the Glendenning site, conducting digital & flexographic printing
Undertaking a **Cert III in Printing** over a four (4) year course, the printing apprenticeship is a mix of on-the-job training, as well as theoretical training. At the end of the apprenticeship as a qualified Printer you will be able to autonomously operate digital & other printing presses and conduct mechanical maintenance of printing machines.

**What’s involved?**
Peacocks Glendenning site focuses on digital printing, a technique that allows for the direct transfer of digital files such as graphics or text, onto a variety of different media. This may involve printing on different media like papers, plastics, aluminium foil etc., or combinations of materials. Examples of digital printing include flexible packaging including food and cosmetic packaging, wine, beverage & food labels, and a variety of other different forms of media.
This role is a full-time 4 year Apprenticeship and will typically see you carry out the following duties in your first year:
- Shadow qualified printers as they operate Printing & embellishment machines and undertake machine maintenance.
- Provide assistance to qualified printers including keeping work area clean, preparing boxes, retrieving inks, planning & preparing raw materials.
- Support with setting up digital presses between jobs
- Assist with quality checks of finished product
- General housekeeping of production floor
- Prepare and maintain work area
- Prepare, load and unload product on and off machine
- Support with transporting stock
- Support in the finishing department including embellishment & die-cutting slitting and rewinding of finished product
**About you**:
To suit this role, you will be an eager and motivated individual with a passion for the graphic and printing industry. You will have good communication skills, show attention to detail and demonstrate initiative in your everyday duties.
The recruitment process will include basic mechanical aptitude testing.
