**The Company**

Our client has been conventionally broadacre farming for over 20 years, owning and leasing property in regional Victoria growing winter cereals, oilseed and pulses (dryland and irrigation). Farming sustainably, they are focused on pursuing practices that optimise the productive potential of the land and challenge the status quo in striving to be the benchmark in their field.

Over the years they have researched and developed innovative technology and machinery, which when used across pasture and cropping situations, delivers significant yield increases. They are now deploying this technology, rolling it out across current properties and new acquisitions. With support from external expert advisors and established industry linkages, the Company has a solid foundation to pursue its growth plans and achieve scale.

**The Role**

There is now the requirement for a General Manager - Cropping to lead the team, manage the cropping operations and help grow the business. Reporting to the CEO and as part of the leadership team you will be responsible for:

- Contributing to the strategic direction for the Company
- Preparing cropping plans, budgets and forecasts
- Managing the entire cropping operations and staff
- WHS, and driving the safety culture

This is a diverse, hands-on role where initially you will be actively out in the field leading and engaging with internal and external personnel, monitoring and managing the cropping operations. Longer term it is managing growth of the business and operations.

**The Person**

To be successful in this role you will have at least 5 years cropping experience and:

- Leadership attributes, ambitious by nature
- Management potential / capability, able to inspire people to follow
- Broadacre agronomy skills
- Strong desire to learn and grow, open to the next step in your career
