The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

Why this role matters

We currently have a vacancy for a values driven Casual Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment of all the buildings and surrounds to the highest standard.

You will successfully
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the bathrooms, common areas, offices, and surrounds.
- Ensure all rubbish is cleared at font of entrance and surrounding areas - 9 Roden Street West Melbourne daily.
- Ensure all front of house floor tiles are scrubbed at least once a week and all glass is kept clean.
- Follow the specifications list and complete all tasks as listed.
- Attend to any emergency cleaning situations such as blood spills, shower/toilet or basin overflows, bathroom accidents
- Use adequate protective equipment
- Observe all Covid 19 recommended personal and cleaning practices as documented by DHHS
- Ensure chemicals and other domestic products are stored safely and securely to meet the relevant MSDS guidelines
- Ensure containers and dispensers are always replenished and functional and provide cleaning aids for staff & clients to use.
- Ability to work at all Melbourne Metro Homelessness sites

This is a casual position.

What we're looking for
- Minimum 12 months’ experience cleaning, and desirable to have worked within a Community Sector
- Relevant qualification and/or experience in Hygiene and Cleaning materials and methods
- Knowledge of cleaning regulation and storage of chemicals
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as in a team and with minimum supervision
- Physical ability to undertake all cleaning duties
- Current VIC Driver's Licence
- Current and valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
