**Your new role**
This Publications Officer develops key publications and editorial work for the residents, industry and community sectors of Brisbane. This position provides support in implementing the organisation’s Brand Strategy and priority marketing campaigns via these flagship publications. This position also provides timely reports on work progress and budget expenditure.
- Lead and role model customer focused behaviour by delivering the highest standards of service to our customers.
- Work in partnership with your team leader to agreed performance standards and mutual expectations. Give and receive regular feedback to enable performance to be improved and take personal responsibility for optimising your potential.
- Support the delivery of the organisation’s flagship publications, annual report, and editorial work including printed materials, electronic communications, displays and exhibitions.
- Implement communication activities in line with the organisation’s corporate marketing strategy, guidelines, policies and processes, including branding, approvals processes, corporate style guide, priority campaigns, liaising with third party agencies, and preferred supplier arrangements.
- Implement a variety of communication activities (specifically focusing on quality publications and editorial work) ensuring deadlines, budgets, reporting and corporate priorities are met.
- Develop, monitor and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external partners and networks to enable the effective delivery of communication projects.
- Research, write, proof and edit communication materials for a range of target audiences.
- Content plan across multiple publications using insights and analytics to deliver effective editorial outcomes.
- Present materials and advice to achieve positive communication project outcomes.
- Actively innovate and improve strategies, processes and systems as they relate to this role.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Sound knowledge of current marketing and communication issues and trends, and proven ability to use this to improve communication outcomes.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, including researching, writing, editing, proofreading and presentation skills, for a range of projects and audiences.
- Successfully plan and deliver marketing and communication activities, (specifically publication materials and editorial work), for projects on time and on budget.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful marketing and communication strategies that fulfil corporate and program objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships to influence a diverse range of stakeholders in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence.
