**Full time, junior dental assistant** required for a busy general dental practice. No experience necessary, we will provide you with the training to become a great dental assistant and valued member of our team. **Only those who are available to work full time and can work on Saturdays should apply. We are looking for someone to join our dental team who is interested in making dental assisting a career. **We have two surgery locations, Parramatta and Cabramatta - both of which are close to public transport.

**Dental Assistant duties include**:

- Welcoming patients and their families and ensuring they are comfortable during their dental visit
- Assisting the dentist chair-side during procedures - passing instruments, mixing materials, control of the suction and light
- Infection control and sterilisation of instruments and disinfection of the clinical environment
- General household maintenance and tidying up of the dental surgery and waiting room
- Minor reception and clerical duties - filing and booking patient appointments, accounts and claiming

**Dental Assistant Qualities and Skills desired**:

- Must have a keen interest in a hands-on and interactive job
- Open to constructive feedback and willingness to learn and gain skills as a dental assistant
- Punctual and tidy presentation with a kind and caring nature
- Diligent and hardworking attitude
- Flexible with hours; we need staff members who can work during the week as well as on Saturdays
- Must be willing to travel between multiple locations for work
- Good computer skills are an advantage but not mandatory
- Good spoken English skills and Chinese (Mandarin / Cantonese speaking) skills preferred

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $43,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff members are required to wear masks at all times and other appropriate PPE as instructed. All staff are to be fully vaccinated and have booster shot for COVID-19 and other immunisations for safe practice. Further details can be supplied on request.

- Parramatta, NSW 2150: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
