**Position Description - Administration Support Officer**
July 2025**

**Purpose**

The Administration Support Officer will be responsible for providing effective and efficient
support to the Administration Coordinator Development Services and the technical officers
in the division, whilst also providing efficient and timely information to customers and
maintaining accurate administration functions meeting legislative requirements and
timeframes in relation to development assessment.

**Key Deliverables**
- Attend to telephone, counter and written enquiries from the public and external

organisations ensuring exceptional customer experience.
- Undertake administration tasks such as word processing, creation of requisitions,

data entry, and manage documents in line with relevant record management
standards.
- Process Section 7 Property Search requests
- Production of Agendas and Minutes for Council Assessment Panel (CAP) meetings

and general administrative duties of the CAP.
- Undertake tasks associated with the Plan SA Portal.
- Assist in the Development Expiations process including issuing expiation notices in

the IMaas System.
- Assist in management of Essential Safety Provision (ESP) register and annual returns

process.
- Manage administration tasks along with supporting the Development Services Team

where required.

**Person Specification**

Essential criteria
- A passion and commitment in providing an exceptional Customer Experience.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to accurately compile and record Council Assessment Panel agendas and

minutes.
- Knowledge of property searches pursuant to Section 7 of Land and Business (Sale

and Conveyancing) Act 1994 requirements and processes.
- Use of corporate technologies including systems in electronic records management.
- Knowledge of the roles and processes of Development Assessment including use of

the Plan SA portal.
- Good understanding of quality listening principles and sound knowledge of

telephone and counter techniques.

- Ability and commitment to perform effectively as an individual, in a team and across

the whole organisation.

Desirable criteria
- Experience in working in programs such as Authority, particularly the “Applications”

and “Property Management” modules.
- Knowledge of Government functions, roles and processes, including the development

assessment process.

**Standard conditions**
- Satisfactory completion of a National Police Clearance (will be arranged by the City of

Marion)
- Satisfactory completion of applicable Medical Assessment (will be arranged by the

City of Marion)
- Must be either an Australian resident or possess the legal right to work in Australia,

with the ability to provide documentation of a valid work visa.
- Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation and regulation obligations and
- Embrace ethical and moral behavior and report any suspected instances of fraud

and/or corruption in accordance with Fraud and Corruption Management and the
Code of Conduct.
