About the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Network Services Specialist to join our Information Technology and Automation Solutions (ITAS) global group

In this role, you will manage network project and operational changes, contributing to the development of network technology solutions and providing third level support to resolve infrastructure issues promptly.

Specifically, you will ensure our Western Australian operations location networks needs are addressed and collaborate with other network team members, sharing knowledge and ideas for network infrastructure changes. This role is based at Alcoa’s Pinjarra Refinery location. There will be a need to travel to other nearby Alcoa locations - within 1 hr travel time from Pinjarra - to perform network install and support activities as required.

As the Network Services Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing solutions for LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and VoIP solutions.- Being a technical escalation point of contact providing technical guidance and performing incident analysis.-
- Analysing, configuring network hardware, software and services to optimise network performance.- Contributing to network device lifecycle management by planning, decommissioning, and replacement of equipment and services.- Supporting Alcoa business operations on project related and growth initiatives.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Tertiary degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.- Demonstrated experience of routing protocols, switching and network security.- Cisco CCNA certification. Working towards Cisco CCNP qualification is desirable.- Minimum 2 years Enterprise level experience. Exposure to Mining, Heavy industries is considered desirable.- Excellent problem-solving skills.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
